An essential part of every complete blast operation is properly selected and well-maintained operator safety equipment. Two of the most important components in this category of equipment are the supplied air blast hood(fed with “Grade D” breathing air) and its air purification system. When functioning properly, these two items will provide the operator with clean, cool and comfortable air – an absolute must for getting through any blast project. Listed in the section below are the industry’s most common clean air purifier systems. It is important to note that these purifiers do not remove Carbon Monoxide or other hazardous gasses from within your air supply. If you have a concern that Carbon Monoxide gas might be present in your airline, the use of a CO monitor is suggested. There are numerous ways to properly set up an efficient (and compliant) breathing air system so please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have. Bullard® 41 Series Purifier

With proven reliability and rugged construction, the Bullard 41 series purifier has remained an industry standard for decades. As air passes through the 7-stage filter housed within the unit, moisture, particulates, oil traces and odors are removed allowing clean dry air to pass through the outlet while water and contaminants arepurged through the manual drain on the base of the unit.Given this filter’s high efficiency, it also serves as an excellent “moisture trap” for instrument and tool air when not being used for breathing applications. The filter housing is constructed of high quality steel and features three sturdy legs which keep the unit stable during portable use and allow the operator to bolt down the unit for stationary applications. Incoming air is fed through the side of the unit via two-prong air crowfoot and outgoing air is regulated at the top (or side) of the unit with an industrial regulator and gauge. The 41 series purifier is available in three primary configurations:

 

  • 41A – 1” Inlet and 1” outlet.Allows for largest CFM – through capability.3/4” Regulator is mounted to inlet of unit. Max rating is 100 CFM.
  • 41P2 – 1” Inlet and 3/8” outlet. Designed to provide enough CFM to supply air to two standard blast hoods with air conditioners. Optional wall mount is available. Max rating is 75 CFM.
  • 41P6 – 1” Inlet and (6) 3/8” oultes. Designed to provide CFM to multiple hoods or tools (with lower pressure demands). Optional wall mount is available. Max rating is 75 CFM.

Clemco CPF Series Purifier

The Clemco CPF series filter is a well-built unit designed to operate in the toughest conditions. It features a multi-stage filter designed to remove moisture, particulates, oil traces and odors are removed allowing clean dry air to pass through the outlet while water and contaminants are purged through the manual drain on the base of the unit. The high efficiency filter also serves as an excellent “moisture trap” for instrument and tool air when not being used for breathing applications.The standard leg bracket can be mounted to the base of the unit for use standing upright and mounting to the floor or mounted to the side for attaching to the wall in fixed applications. Incoming air is fed through the side of the unit via two-prong air crowfoot and outgoing air is regulated at the top of the unit with an industrial regulator and gauge. The CPF filter comes in two standard configurations:

 

  • CPF-20 – 1” Inlet and 3/8” outlet. Designed to provide enough CFM to supply two standard blast hoods with air conditioners. Max rating is 100 CFM.
  • CPF-80 – 1” Inlet and (4) 3/8” outlets. Equipped to provide enough CFM to supply up to four standard blast hoods. Max rating is 100 CFM.

RPB®Radex™ Series Purifier

The RPB Radex purifier is a one of the most versatile units available within the clean air market. Its six-stage filter is designed to remove moisture, particulates, oil traces and odors thus allowing clean and dry air to pass through the outlet while water and contaminants are purged through the manual drain on the base of the unit. The high efficiency filter serves as an excellent “moisture trap” for instrument and tool air when not being used for breathing applications. The standard leg bracket can be mounted to the base of the unit for use standing upright and mounting to the floor or mounted to the side for attaching to the wall in fixed applications. For applications where monitoring of Carbon Monoxide and other hazardous gases is necessary, RPB’s GX4™ Gas Monitor can be mounted directly to the purifier for easy hook up and sampling of the outgoing air. The Radex Purifier also features two outlet and six outlet configurations each rated to a maximum of 100 CFM.
